Wheatland County is a municipal district located directly east of Calgary which encompasses Strathmore, Rosebud, Dorothy, Cluny and Carseland. Wheatland County is located in Census Division No. 5 and its municipal office is located east of the Town of Strathmore on Highway 1.
Wheatland County serves a population of approximately 8,800 covering 4,539 square kilometres of rolling prairie farmland stretching from Rockyview County border to the Red Deer River which includes parts of the Alberta Badlands.
